The Alta Audio Celesta FRM‑2M is a reference bookshelf loudspeaker (monitor) — a two-way design with a proprietary ribbon tweeter and a 6″ bass-midrange driver, both custom-made for Alta Audio. The ribbon delivers exceptionally clean, fast and linear highs for a genuinely neutral sound.
The 6″ bass-midrange driver has a large 3.1″ voice coil (Hexatech™ aluminium on a titanium former), a hybrid neodymium/ferrite magnet and a Coppersleeve Neolin motor — for free, controlled cone movement. The bass is tuned by the proprietary XTL™ (Extended Transmission Line) system, tuning the cabinet at multiple frequencies for a clean, fast low end.
The cabinet is built using DampHard technology: a multi-layer construction with a hard outer surface that damps unwanted resonances. Sensitivity 87.5 dB. This is a reference-class monitor for demanding listeners.
