The MFV3 Standard MkIII are floorstanding loudspeakers created to Icon Audio’s simple, effective formula: a solid, well-designed cabinet, the best possible drivers and voicing the whole as a single system — entirely using valve amplifiers. This guarantees an optimal match to valve amplification.
High sensitivity of 92 dB means just 15 W easily fills even a large room, while a low impedance translates into greater loudness, a wider soundstage and controlled bass. It is the ideal partner for low-power valve amplifiers (9–90 W), including 9 W 300B designs, which the MFV3 rewards with immediacy and dynamics.
The design is based on a D’Appolito layout with a ported bass system for extended bass and a simple crossover that interferes minimally with the amplifier’s signal. Audiophile coils and polypropylene capacitors, long-fibre MDF (minimal colouration), a narrow front (23 cm) and a small footprint. A dark-rosewood finish, with anti-vibration spikes and a grille included. Shielded magnets. Designed in Leicester, United Kingdom.
