The MFV4 are compact floorstanding loudspeakers created with smaller rooms in mind. Icon Audio designed them to solve two common problems: excess and „thick” bass from larger speakers, and the difficulty of positioning stand-mount monitors. With a front just 18 cm wide, they genuinely save space.
High sensitivity of 92 dB means even a 15-watt valve amplifier reaches an excellent volume level — enough for great orchestral works in a large room. It is the ideal partner for low-power valve amplifiers (9–90 W), especially 9 W 300B SE designs.
A simple crossover interferes minimally with the signal, letting the amplifier „see” the drivers cleanly, without unnecessary distortion — which translates into greater loudness, a spatial image and controlled bass. The section comprises a 1-inch silk tweeter and a 4.5-inch bass-midrange driver, in a real-veneer cabinet (dark rosewood). Shielded magnets; spikes and a grille are included.
