The FRM1 are compact bookshelf loudspeakers with a proprietary, full-range Icon Audio driver. The brand has designed loudspeakers, cabinets and drivers since 2002, combining that experience with a knowledge of valve amplifiers. The FRM1 is the happy medium between a classic full-range design and a multi-way layout — a musical, coherent sound with no complex crossover.
The result is a smooth, seamless transition between bass, midrange and treble — without the harshness and metallic character that tire the ear. For their size, the FRM1 reach surprisingly low, while taking up little space. At the heart of the loudspeaker is an 8-inch driver with a rare-earth tweeter dome, a paper cone and a long voice coil.
The loudspeakers have a front port, so they can be placed close to a wall — on a shelf or a stand. A separate chamber houses a lossless attenuator with which to adjust the sound to the room’s acoustics. The cabinet is made of audiophile MDF with real veneer (cherry or walnut) and high-purity copper wiring. Designed and voiced with low-power valve amplifiers.
