The Stereo 845 PP is Icon Audio’s flagship integrated amplifier, built around the majestic 845 output valve. Operating in a push-pull configuration almost entirely in Class A, it offers 40 W per channel with a luxurious, warm and effortless sound that combines power with the subtlety of a pure triode.
It is an uncompromising design: full hand-wired point-to-point assembly, a GZ34 valve rectifier, a power supply with a dual LC filter and low-distortion LDT transformers wound to order. The input stage is based on 6SL7 and 6SN7 valves, and the whole is completed by audiophile Solen/SCR capacitors (Mundorf optional) and silver-plated PTFE wiring.
The amplifier features an „easy bias” meter, a recording loop, a remote control with a Japanese ALPS potentiometer and an included acrylic valve cage. It can also be used as a power amplifier. The model was named „Amplifier of the Year 2014” by Hi-Fi World magazine.
